Mara Manin Amendola has cultivated a diverse and accomplished legal career spanning more than three decades. She currently serves as a Partner at the firm, where she focuses on real estate, lender representation, wills and estate administration, land use, municipal law, and Article 81 guardianship matters. Mara’s extensive experience includes serving as an Associate at Parker Chapin Flattau and Klimpl and later running her own private practice for over 30 years.
Mara’s experience as Village Attorney and Village Prosecutor for Huntington Bay and as an Administrative Law Judge for the Town of Huntington has shaped her career as a trusted advisor on municipal law. Her roles allowed her to bring a balanced, thoughtful approach to legal issues affecting her community.
Mara remains deeply involved in her community, serving on the Town of Huntington Planning Board, where she is a member and former Vice-Chair. Her commitment to public service has included her time as Village Attorney and Village Prosecutor for the Village of Huntington Bay, as well as her service as the first female Administrative Law Judge for the Town of Huntington’s Bureau of Administrative Adjudication.
Mara’s journey into law was driven by her personal experiences and family history. Inspired by her great-grandfather’s success in the real estate market after emigrating to the U.S., Mara’s passion for real estate law was solidified when, at the age of 20, she purchased her own co-op apartment in New York City. Working as a paralegal early in her career, she found herself drawn to the real estate closings and transactions that allow her to act as a facilitator rather than an adversary.
Mara has broken numerous barriers for women in her community and legal career. She was the first woman to serve as President of the Huntington Lawyers Club, which was formed in 1934, and the first female Village Attorney and Village Prosecutor for the Village of Huntington Bay. Mara also became the first female Administrative Law Judge for the Town of Huntington and remains the only female member of the Town of Huntington Planning Board. Throughout her career, she has mentored many young female attorneys, inspiring them to fearlessly pursue their goals.
Outside of her legal practice, Mara enjoys spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren, traveling, playing golf, and staying active with fitness activities.
